1.taking image sensor out of camera

at last first steps to modifying 300D……………05. 07. 30

I extended eos 300D’s FPCB which goes to mainboard from CMOS by using flat cable for computers by 25cm to take it out CMOS out of the body housing. concerning that the noise will increase because of extended cable I used aliminium foil  to make temporary cable shield.

cable soldering was done neatly with the help of the professional engineer. After temporary assemble power on & test exposure…impressively it worked regularly.

After having long time exposure test there was almost no changes at background noise, But there was three times more Hot pixels than before. especially in blue colors

doubt is

1. reasonableness of sheild treatment ( stainless, copper, aluminum..etc. )

2. flat cable passed through flash recharge condenser, and wonder if there was some effects on it.

I think I have to redo the test after removing this.

Upper are comparison of the pictures before taking out CMOS sensor out of the housing(top) and after taking CMOS senor out(bottom)(ASA1600 4min. darkframe)

Since there are differences in Ambient temperature it isn’t objective enough but comparing with the images taked before, it seems that it isn’t that bad. It is seemed that it’s because digital signals that goes from CMOS to mainboard doesn’t get effected by cable noise.

Making CMOS housing…

Sticking cooling system…

there are much way to go…
